INNOVATION
Stemming from our history of process troubleshooting, we can never resist an opportunity for improvement. This attitude trickles down to our products as we’re constantly on the lookout for ways to solve new challenges, whether that’s designing a custom impeller for a process development project, or working towards the most efficient mixer agitators and peristaltic pumps on the market.

Challenging Applications
While many mixing applications can use proven designs, there are always new processes being developed that require innovative mixing solutions. At Sepro we take pride in being able to design unique mixing systems quickly and efficiently for new applications. We have an in-house laboratory we use to simulate and test industrial processes in order to develop custom tank and impeller designs. We are then able to use our 3D printing capabilities to quickly iterate towards an effective design solution. Which we can scale up with confidence. We can go from conceptual design to proof of concept testing in a matter of days!

Predictive Mixing Software
Sepro in-house mechanical design program ensures a safe, robust and reliable mechanical agitator. Both normal and abnormal loads (ie. with high gas rates or low level operations) are taken into account when calculating critical speed, loads and forces, blade and hub thickness, and shaft construction.
The Sepro design program also calculates component weights and integrates with Sepro’s process design program to ensure our customers receive products that are reliable, both from a mechanical and process design perspective.
To further enhance mechanical reliability, Sepro uses finite element analysis software to ensure our large industrial agitators will safely exceed the design specifications, resisting fatigue over years of continued operation.

Current R&D Project: High Pressure Peristaltic Pump
Efficiency is crucial when it comes to dealing with high-density slurries like tailings. Everyday, high density mine tailings need to be pumped farther and father, requiring pumps capable of both handling high density slurries and generating high pressures. While traditional peristaltic pumps excel at handling high density slurries, they have not been able to generate the pressure necessary for long distance tailings or paste transport. This is usually done with positive displacement pumps that are extremely expensive and maintenance intensive.
Sepro Mixing and Pumping is currently using its extensive mechanical design expertise to develop a ultra-high pressure peristaltic pump that will be able to meet the challenge of providing a reliable, cost effective pump for high density, high pressure applications.
Stay tuned for Sepro’s launch of innovate high pressure peristaltic pumps..
